KENNESAW, Ga. – Tin Lizzy’s Cantina is coming to Kennesaw, Ga in mid-August, and will be the seventh location built.  Tin Lizzy’s Cantina is a “FlexMex” restaurant that started in Atlanta’s Buckhead.

The new location will be at 3470 George Busbee Parkway. It is expected that it will get many customers from Kennesaw State University since it is close to campus.

“We picked Kennesaw because it’s awesome. It’s the best location we could have possibly picked,” said Aaron Hobbs, general manager. “There is so much exposure, and we have done very little advertising and everyone is already really excited for us to open.”

What Will This Bring to Kennesaw

Tin Lizzy’s Cantina is not your typical restaurant, and is reasonably priced. It is designed to provide a hangout spot for friends and family.

“Tin Lizzy’s will bring a little bit of diversity, somewhere for everyone to go and relax and enjoy time with their friends and family,” said Hobbs.

A laid back, fun environment that features great service, affordable food and drinks, live music from local artists, a gathering spot for students, families, professionals and sports fans,” said Heather Stennis, marketing director.

What’s on the Menu?

Tin Lizzy’s Cantina is known for its diversity in its food items. They have 25 options of gourmet tacos, shareable dips, salads, skillets, seven house margaritas, five specialty margaritas and a variety of beers.

FlexMex is a common term used when explaining Tin Lizzy’s Cantina. FlexMex is similar to the meaning of Tex-Mex, but provides a variety of cultures’ influence upon the menu items.

“We have a proprietary blend of sour mix we use in our margaritas that nobody else has,” said Brent McGhee, area director.

It has five types of tacos that include veggie, chicken, steak and fish and shrimp tacos. The Lowcountry taco was a 2013 best taco winner. The Lowcountry taco consist of grilled shrimp, topped with chorizo, grilled onions, corn, tater tots, drizzled with spicy ranch and red peppers. Tin Lizzy’s will select the 2014 winner later this year.

“My favorite is the Southern Comfort Taco. It’s amazing. It has fried pickles on it,” said Hobbs.

How Did It Get Started

Tin Lizzy’s started in the upscale Atlanta neighborhood of Buckhead in 2005 when four friends came together from Florida State University, and realized their neighborhood needed a local spot that had affordable food and drinks.

They had a vision of a place where friends could come to have fun, watch sports, listen to live music, be surrounded by a fun environment and relax. There are a total of seven restaurants now, and all four guys still own each location.

Tin Lizzy’s Future

Tin Lizzy’s Cantina is expecting to have another location built in Duluth, Ga. The owners hope to expand their reach in the future. Tin Lizzy’s plans to build outside of Georgia in the future.

First-Hand Experience at Tin Lizzy’s

ATLANTA -- Tin Lizzy’s Cantina in Buckhead has great customer service and an interesting environment. The moment you enter the restaurant you feel the lively environment of the customers and the staff.

I ordered the Southern Comfort Taco on my first visit to Tin Lizzy’s Cantina. I chose this taco because the waitress said it was awarded the best taco in 2012, and was one of her personal favorites. The Southern Comfort taco includes grilled chicken, goat cheese, grilled onions, fried pickles and barbecue sauce.

It was recommended to try one of the margaritas as well. Tin Lizzy’s has a reputation of having delicious specialty margaritas. I ordered the Pomegranate Cilantro margarita that consists of Don Julio Silver, pomegranate liqueur, sour mix, fresh cilantro and a lime wedge.

The service was fast, and I noticed a night crowd that picks up around 6:30 p.m. There was a 15 minute wait when I came at 6:30 p.m.

The restaurant has live music Thursday through Saturday. The live band sets the lively atmosphere throughout the restaurant, and is a nice touch to the urban surroundings of Buckhead. However, if you are not a fan of a loud environment, I would recommend going to dinner Sunday through Wednesday.

The Tin Lizzy’s Cantina in Buckhead, was the first one built, and it is well managed. The staff handles a busy restaurant with calmness, and as a customer you see their enjoyment of a full restaurant.

Headline

The sentence describing the story. Maybe two sentences. No more than that.

I really don’t want a lot here.

Headline for Main Story

Headline for Sidebar one
By Your Name

Then do a lead that is not a repeat of the paragraph on the layer one page. Assume the reader did not read the paragraph on the layer one page.

After three or four graphs, put in a subhead.

Subhead one

Then keep going with the story. If you refer to the sidebar topic, underline it and parentheses the headline for the sidebar as if it were a link (headline of sidebar). If you refer to your external link be sure to put it in parentheses also (www.externallink.com).

Insert your graphic (picture) where appropriate and don’t forget to say in the caption who took the picture. If it’s not immediately clear or obvious what the picture is or who the picture is of, put the person’s name or a brief description of the scene in the caption as well. You could also post your graphic in a separate post. If you do that, be sure to put a headline on the graphic post and link that headline on the homepage. (see below)

Headline for Sidebar one

Assume that your reader did not read the main story. Reintroduce your interviewees. Tell them again the main topic. And make sure you have a nut graph that tells them the point of the sidebar.

Your sidebar should be about 200-300 words long. One page or a page and a half is plenty.
